Do It Yourself

  1. Drill the top screw into the wall where you want to install the window blinds. Be sure to tighten firmly since the top screw holds the majority of the weight of the window blinds. Then, drill one screw into the lower hole of each bracket.
  2. View off the window blind brackets after they are installed.
  3. Install head rail. Place the front edge of track into the front edge of mounting brackets as shown. Then, snap the back side of the head rail into place. Make sure that it clicks.

Measuring Guide

1) Inside or Recess Mount (Ceiling Mount)WINDOW BLINDS MEASURING GUIDE

  • Measure the width inside the window opening.
  • Measure the height inside the window opening.
  • Do not make any deductions.
  • Never measure existing blinds.
  • Double check your measurements.
  • Record string position.
REASONS FOR CHOOSING INSIDE MOUNT Clean Look
  • Inside-mount treatments are installed inside the window casing, showcasing attractive window trim.
  • The window opening frames the treatment for a finished, clean appearance.
Allows Sill Space on Deep Windows
  • In some deep-set windows, window treatments can be installed to allow plants or other items to be placed in front of the window on the sill.
LIMITATIONS OF THE INSIDE MOUNT Light Gaps
  • A small deduction in the width and/or length is taken by the manufacturer to be allowed for proper operating clearance. This causes a small gap on each side of the window treatment, affecting the window treatment’s ability to darken a room.
Obstructed View
  • The stack (compressed portion of the window treatment when fully raised) will obstruct a part of the view from the window.
  • The amount of stack varies by a product.
Architectural Obstacles
  • Obstacles such as handles and cranks can interfere with the operation of Inside-mount treatments

2) Outside or Relief Mount (Wall Mount)

Measuring Guide:WINDOW BLINDS MEASURING GUIDE
  • Measure the width across the window. Typically add at least 3cm on each sides.
  • Measure the height of the area where you want the blind to cover. Typically add at least 5cm at the top and 5cm at the bottom.
  • Double check your measurements.
  • Record string position.
REASONS FOR CHOOSING OUTSIDE MOUNT Improves Privacy and Light Control
  • Light gaps on the side of the window treatment can be substantially diminished or eliminated. There are fewer installation limitations.
  • Outside-mount window treatments are ideal for covering non-square windows.
  • Inside-mount window treatments are installed higher than the window opening for an unobstructed view when fully raised.
Solves Architectural Obstacles
  • Outside-mount window treatments can clear obstacles, like handles and cranks.
Enlarges the look of a small window
  • Increases overlap above and below or to each side of the window.
Hides Window trim
  • Outside-mount treatments can easily hide unattractive window trim.
